Betfred Challenge Cup Results | Sunday 8 February

Sunday’s action brought Round 3 of the Betfred Challenge Cup to a close, ahead of the Fourth Round draw tomorrow evening.

Bradford Bulls ensured their name would be in the hat after beating London Broncos 8-26 in the capital, and in front of BBC Sport’s cameras.

After a closely fought first half, the Bulls showed their superiority and went on to score 22 unanswered points.

Jayden Okunbor, Andy Ackers, Ethan Russell, Dan Russell and Waqa Blake were Bradford’s scorers on Sunday afternoon.

Elsewhere, Catalans Dragons cruised through to Round 4 as they posted 56 points on Batley Bulldogs, scoring one of the fastest tries in Challenge Cup history, which saw Nick Cotric crash over just nine seconds from the kick off.

Both Wakefield Trinity and Wigan Warriors racked up mammoth wins over their Betfred Championship opposition, meaning all 13 Betfred Super League sides have progressed to the Fourth Round.

The Warriors showed their class at Crown Oil Arena against Rochdale Hornets, with Zach Eckersley crossing for four tries, whilst Jai Field and Jake Wardle completed hat-tricks, and Bevan French bagged a double.

Matty Storton was a hat-trick hero for Trinity away at Swinton Lions. Both Wakefield and Wigan surpassed 80 points in Round 3.

In the all-Championship ties, Oldham were up for the cup with a convincing 46-0 victory over Dewsbury Rams, whilst Goole Vikings earned a historic win at The Shay.

It was a story of missed chances for Halifax, with Scott Taylor’s side coming from behind to beat the Panthers 14-18.

Finally, Keighley Cougars snatched victory at the death with Izaac Farrell’s score on the 79th minute, with Midlands Hurricanes bowing out at the Third Round stage.

The Fourth Round draw will take place on Monday 9 February at 6.40pm, live on BBC Radio Manchester hosted by Gaz Drinkwater and Emily Brobyn.

2006 Challenge Cup winner Jon Wilkin will join Kevin Brown to conduct the draw of the last 16.
